Bridges Ventures invests in ORLA Healthcare, a new service to deliver acute medical care at home

The service aims to deliver enhanced patient choice, improved medical outcomes and ease pressure on A&E units

Bridges Ventures ("Bridges") has announced it is backing ORLA Healthcare ("ORLA"), a new provider of acute medical home care, allowing patients who would otherwise be admitted to hospital, to receive treatment in the comfort of their own home.

At a time when A&E units across the country are increasingly under pressure, ORLA's innovative "Hospital at Home" service gives eligible patients arriving at A&E units the choice of being treated in their own home by a team of specially trained healthcare professionals. Based on international precedents that show that patients being treated in familiar surroundings respond better, ORLA aims to improve medical outcomes and ease pressure on NHS hospitals.
